From enchanting fantasies to riveting poetry – our Creative Writing classes at Sounds of Color Studio will teach you the elements that make stories resonate and help you discover your own voice as an aspiring author. Students will also develop spelling, vocabulary, and reading skills with guided group discussions of popular literary works - all in a fun and engaging learning environment.
How We Teach • Creative Writing Classes
Creative writing classes at Sounds of Color Studio are for elementary and middle school students who are looking to strengthen their writing and reading comprehension skills. Our experienced teachers provide individualized instruction to help students build their literacy skills, while learning how to write stories with their own authentic point of view. Students also participate in guided group discussions on popular books and poetry to help expand their writing portfolio and develop their style and voice as writers.
Skills We Teach • Creative Writing Classes
We offer two different levels of creative writing classes: elementary and middle school. This allows our teachers to provide tailored instruction and guidance for our students based on their learning needs. A sample of the different writing skills covered in our creative writing classes include:

Fees • Group Class Schedule
Creative Writing Class Fees*
Private: 1 lesson/week • 1 hour • $500/month + $200 material fee**
Group: 1 lesson/week • 1 hour • $150/month per student + $200 material fee**
*Class fees include 4 lessons per month. If a month has 5 weeks, there is no additional charge for the fifth class. Tuition is billed monthly, and all class fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-prorated - regardless of attendance.

Studio Classes
Our studio creates an engaging academic learning environment perfect for creative writing classes. Small group class sizes mean our students receive hands-on instruction from our teachers, and tailored curriculum based on their grade level.
Makeup Lesson Policy
Advance notice prior to missing a lesson is appreciated. Makeup lessons (if applicable) must be scheduled in advance for a day/time mutually convenient for both the student and teacher (no walk-ins). Makeup lessons may not be used in place of a regular class session. Any accrued makeup lessons are forfeited if a student is no longer enrolled at Sounds of Color Studio. No refunds will be provided for any forfeited makeup lessons.
