It’s time for parents to hit the dance floor! With Parent & Me: Dance Classes at Sounds of Color Studio, parents and children will learn to move and groove when they hear their favorite songs. We offer a variety of dance classes for parents and children to explore together. Whether it’s the graceful poise of ballet, the energetic bursts of hip hop, or the soulful beats of jazz, we’ll help you and your child embrace your inner dancers.
How We Teach • Parent & Me: Dance Classes
Parent & Me: Dance Classes at Sounds of Color Studio offer an inviting, no-pressure environment for parents and young dancers with any level of experience. Our teachers use a mix of popular and classic music, as well as live piano accompaniment, to provide the right soundtrack and ambiance for any style of dance. Together, you and your child will practice the proper dance poises and forms, as well as stretches to keep the body loose and ready to groove.
Skills We Teach • Parent & Me: Dance Classes
Our integrated dance curriculum provides parents and their child with all-in-one instruction for 3 dance varieties. For Ballet, our teachers provide a foundation in classic skills including foot, head, and arms coordination, barre and core work, basic steps, leaps and turns. In Hip Hop, we focus on developing coordination and balance with fun beats and popular music. Jazz incorporates classic tunes and Broadway hits to help you and your child build coordination, movement and floor work.

The same class fee applies to all varieties of our Parent & Me: Dance Classes.
Parent & Me class fees cover 1 parent or guardian and 1 child.

Parent & Me: Dance Class Fees*
Private: 1 lesson/week • 30 minutes • $200/month (Covers 1 parent or guardian and 1 child)
Group: 1 lesson/week • 1 hour • $200/month (Covers 1 parent or guardian and 1 child)
*Private and group class fees include 4 lessons per month. If a month has 5 weeks, there is no additional charge for the fifth class. All class fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Yes. Our teachers have extensive experience and/or educational backgrounds in their area of specialization. Every teacher is thoroughly vetted and goes through a comprehensive background check, including FBI and Department of Justice clearance.

We do our best to match every student with the perfect teacher, but if for any reason it's just not the right fit, we will be more than happy to find an alternative solution. Depending on the situation, this may include finding a new teacher for private lessons, or a different group class.
